ARCO Guest Lounge, Madrid, 2021

Kaleidoskopio is the proposal presented for the VIP Room of the 40th edition of ARCO-Madrid in 2021 by the architects Jesús Donaire & María Milans del Bosch in collaboration with the artist Guillermo Mora and the graphic designer Inés Atienza.

The proposal aims to demonstrate a collaborative process in which art, architecture and design (graphic and furniture) come together, taking the opportunity to mark the important date of one of the most important art fairs on the international scene. A desired opportunity in an increasingly interdisciplinary and technologically interconnected world.

Kaleidoskopio is an infinite container, a space of pure geometries that houses in its gravitational area a large symbolic table in which all visitors, in a special way, will be able to identify with the poetry of its colours. This large table, 9 metres in diameter, is made up of 40 units that identify each and every one of the previous years of the fair. It represents the individual, with its own character and authenticity, and the collective, as an idea of union and social response. The table represents a world of colour, a resilient world that adapts and evolves. A flexible world capable of reconfiguring itself according to needs, which is why this large table can acquire multiple arrangements in this kaleidoscopic space.
